SPARKS, MD (July 6, 2010) – Apex Tool Group, LLC, a global hand and power tool company formed through a joint venture between Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR) and Cooper Industries plc (NYSE:CBE), today announced the closing of the joint venture and unveiled the new company’s name and leadership team. Apex Tool Group is headquartered in Sparks, MD and led by former Danaher Tool Group Executive Steve Breitzka, the new company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Steve Simms, a former Executive Vice President with Danaher Corporation and respected industry veteran, is Chairman of the Board of Directors. The new leadership team for Apex Tool Group includes both Cooper and Danaher executives.

Cooper Tools Australia announces the release of a
new range of Lufkin measuring wheels.

Lufkin®, the official supplier of measuring equipment to the 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988 and 1992 Olympic Games, has announced the release of 3 new measuring wheels.
The new measuring wheels perform to the high standard of the previous measuring wheels but benefit from updated designs and some extra features.
The range consists of measuring wheels with wheel diameters of 100mm, 160mm and 318mm. Features include trigger brake, handle reset button, solid rubber tyre, accurate counters, split shafts for compact storage, and more.

Cooper Tools Australia announces the release of new Lufkin Fibreglass long tapes.

As the official tape measure supplier to the field events of the 1996 Olympic Games, the
Lufkin® brand has always been synonymous with accuracy and quality. The new range of
fibreglass long tapes maintain this tradition while adding practical features to make the
task of measuring easier and more accurate.
The new range Lufkin fiberglass tapes comprise a 30m/100’, 60m/200’ and a 100m/330’
tape. All blades have large clear graduations and are two sided, one side in metric and
the other side with imperial markings. New design open 4 arm frame provides improved
protection of the blade and does not trap dirt in the case, plus the “No Knuckle Buster”
handle design helps to avoid skinned knuckles and has a bigger opening, making
measuring while wearing gloves easier. The “No-Kink” 13mm fiberglass tape resists
kinking while rewinding. A robust two position end hook allows for inside and outside measurements while the teeth on the end hook bites into surfaces for a better grip.
